Course objectives

Become familiar with the DLXS middleware (including searching with XPat, document classes, and how to modify the middleware). Objectives details.

Prerequisites

some familiarity with SGML
familiarity with perl5 (do the exercise)
have seen the kinds of online collections DLPS makes available already (see http://www.umdl.umich.edu/ and http://www.hti.umich.edu/ for examples)
have the XPAT package from DLXS
